“The Walking tree Man joins with locals in a Coral Fish Dance to save Awase Bay”] In 2009 my friends Paul Coleman and Konomi Kikuchi invited the Walking Treeman to participate in the promotion and celebration of the first International Day of Peace (September 21) on Okinawa. While we were there we heard about the plans for Development of Awase Bay. Awase Bay is an area the locals got of the many foods essential to their traditional diet. And the development would destroy habitat for many sea creatures. Our group Celebration Earth worked with the locals to create an event to save the bay. We came and held the event, the Treeman performed the Coral Fish Dance, fun was had by all. We got articles in three papers and tv coverage. Three days later the plans for development were scraped and the Bay was saved. Here is the video we made of the event:
